The tenth annual Global Energy Talent Index (GETI) report is available for download.

The report surveyed over 9,000 energy professionals in 143 different countries across five industry sub-sectors: oil and gas, petrochemicals, power, nuclear and renewables.

This year’s report condensed it into three chapters to better reflect how the industry is evolving. Petrochemicals and oil and gas have been combined to become the Traditional energy chapter, while nuclear and power is now the Transitional energy chapter. Previous years’ Renewables chapter has become the Future of energy.

FUTURE OF ENERGY

51% of professionals reported a pay increase this year; 20% saw rises above 5%.

60% of professionals use AI in their role, mainly for skills development, bridging knowledge gaps, and career support.

TRANSITIONAL ENERGY

53% of professionals reported a pay increase this year; 24% saw rises above 5%.

52% of professionals have a career development plan, with industry training the most valued (55%).

TRADITIONAL ENERGY

50% of professionals reported a pay increase this year; 22% saw rises above 5% (down from 26%).

81% of professionals were approached for new roles, with renewables the top destination for moves out of oil and gas.
